Our Guest Book
Mrs Helga Mehlert - Germany – 5-Sep-2011
Ivory Lodge was the first place I visited on my Zimbabwe safari, and what a wonderful start it has been. I loved every minute of it. I had a refurbished house with a stunning view over the waterhole. The main area and garden were equally inviting. The hide, very close to the waterhole, is very comfortable, with animals coming and going all the time. The owner, manager, guides and staff made you feel at home and well looked after. The only little disappointment was the food that did not meet my taste, but the new manager is there to make improvement.
On my game drives on the estate and into the park I had very good exceptional sightings: wild dogs, rhino, sable antelops, a big buffalo herd, not to talk about all the other animals and birds as well. But, is was for the elephants, that I had come. And they were there, everywhere and I had the great pleasure to meet some of the famous matriarchs of different families of the Presidential Herd.
Dumi, my guide, called them to our vehicle, and we even had lunch with members of the W-family at Kanondo Pan. It was amazing how they trust the humans, they let the small calves come very close to us too.
Conclusion: when you are an elephant enthusiast, visit Ivory Lodge, and ask for Dumi to be your guide.
Gabriela Eschemann – Germany – June 2011
Gabriela
{A dream in the bush, unfortunately only 2 days, I still can not believe how beautiful it is here. The elephants are so close that you could touch them, the water hole attracts them. But not only the elephants come in family groups, and other animals that we know only from TV.
Pure luxury for me was that the bed is preheated with an electric blanket for the night. That was a super great surprise, the double luxury when you consider that at present there are four degrees at night) Thank you again and again. Gabriela}
Julia Pracht – Germany – June 2011 There was one major problem with my stay at Ivory: it was over too soon! Two nights simply aren’t enough once you’ve sat in the hide with elephants just a few steps away from you. Thanks for a great stay – I loved the very welcoming atmosphere, fabulous staff and management, great hospitality, fun chats by the fire, and the lovely rooms with lots of attention to detail and superb views. I hope to be back for a longer stay. Keep up the excellent work!

Bill & Craig Smithers United States of America 24 – 28 September 2008 I must say you have a very lovely and comfortable lodge. Cedric and Richard treated us very well. By the end of our stay I felt more like friends or family than mere guests. The guide , Dumi, was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. Sharon was also personable. I just wish she could have stayed longer. The were all very personal with us. I can’t think of anything else they could have done to make it better. maybe lions … we didn’t see but a couple. I would and will highly recommend your lodge to everyone. Can’t wait to return. If only you could move it closer to me.?? Thanks again!

The staff deserve much praise, from “front of house” through to the kitchens. The hide, down by the waterhole is terrific. We’ll be recommending you to everyone we meet. We hope to be back soon.
