LILY NEWBY – 29th April 2013  – United Kingdom

We had a marvellous stay at Khulu Ivory Lodge late April 2013.  The tents are very luxurious and well appointed, the lounge/dining tent very comfortable looking out on to the waterhole…. where we had elephants checking out the camp after supper!  A wonderful ambience all round.  Very good game drive and walk with Roy, the manager, who is extremely knowledgeable and interprets the bush and surroundings with great empathy.   Entertaining supper in the company of Khulu Cedric!   A very special place which will certainly attract a loyal clientele.  Thank you again for a delightful stay.

PHYLL NESBITT – 20th May 2013 – Saudi Arabia
I had the pleasure of staying at Khulu Ivory for 1 night. I have lived in Africa all my life, but for the last ten years have worked in Saudi Arabia.
My stay at Khulu was truly amazing.  Roy our host is just the most special person, he even found lion for me as I had never seen them in the wild.
Thank you for an amazing time and I will certainly recommend it to all my travel addicts here

April 2013

The most extraordinary game experience at Ivory Lodge heart of Elephant and Buffalo grazing with sun-downers.  Great to re-connect with old Gatooma days.  Perfect bush spot.  Back soon and best of luck with Khulu.  Thanks for a special stay and dinner in the company of elephants.

April 2013

We have enjoyed the tranquility and hospitality of the Ivory Lodge.  Intriguing conversations with Staff and fellow guests provided an insightful view of Zimbabwe to go along with the game sightings.

March 2013

Thanks for such a wonderful stay.

Mathilde & Xavier – France – 12th AugustWe had our first safari experience ever at Ivory Lodge and we will never forget it. One hour after we arrived, hundreds of      elephants had gathered around the pan to welcome us! It was an amazing sight.  The rooms are gorgeous and offer fantastic views on the pan.  Last but not least, the team is extremely helpful and will do anything they can to make your stay very pleasant.  We were thankful to our guide, Stephen, who was a very persevering and allowed us to see many animals in great conditions.  It was certainly our favorite lodge in our trip around Zimbabwe and Botswana.

Mrs Helga Mehlert  – Germany – 5-Sep-2011  Ivory Lodge was the first place I visited on my Zimbabwe safari, and what a wonderful start it has been. I loved every minute of it. I had a refurbished house with a stunning view over the waterhole. The main area and garden were equally inviting. The hide, very close to the waterhole, is very comfortable, with animals coming and going all the time. The owner, manager, guides and staff made you feel at home and well looked after. The only little disappointment was the food that did not meet my taste, but the new manager is there to make improvement. On my game drives on the estate and into the park I had very good exceptional sightings: wild dogs, rhino, sable antelops, a big buffalo herd, not to talk about all the other animals and birds as well. But, is was for the elephants, that I had come. And they were there, everywhere and I had the great pleasure to meet some of the famous matriarchs of different families of the Presidential Herd. Dumi, my guide, called them to our vehicle, and we even had lunch with members of the W-family at Kanondo Pan. It was amazing how they trust the humans, they let the small calves come very close to us too. Conclusion: when you are an elephant enthusiast, visit Ivory Lodge, and ask for Dumi to be your guide. Gabriela {A dream in the bush, unfortunately only 2 days, I still can not believe how beautiful it is here. The elephants are so close that you could touch them, the water hole attracts them. But not only the elephants come in family groups, and other animals that we know only from TV. Pure luxury for me was that the bed is preheated with an electric blanket for the night. That was a super great surprise, the double luxury when you consider that at present there are four degrees at night :-)) Thank you again and again. Gabriela} Julia Pracht – Germany – June 2011  There was one major problem with my stay at Ivory: it was over too soon! Two nights simply aren’t enough once you’ve sat in the hide with elephants just a few steps away from you. Thanks for a great stay – I loved the very welcoming atmosphere, fabulous staff and management, great hospitality, fun chats by the fire, and the lovely rooms with lots of attention to detail and superb views. I hope to be back for a longer stay. Keep up the excellent work! Janet & Mark United Kingdom 9 January 2010 – 14 January 2010  We stayed with Pearl,Linda and Lesley and their wonderful family. What a wonderful place to spend your 80th birthday pearl. You did not look like you were approaching you 80th. Ivory is a magical place but you all made it that bit more special. Love to David, Christine, Pamala and the woderful staff at Ivory. Look after your wonderful place of elephants.

Chenesai & Oliver Paramu Zimbabwe 15 – 17 December 2008  This was true paradise, we enjoyed every minute of it. You virtually can see game from any part of the lodge without moving an inch. Food was fabulous, hospitality was excellent, what more could we have asked for. This was a romantic getaway and believe me it was superb, am proud of Zimbabwe. I would recommend anyone who wishes a quiet and unforgettabe safari holiday to visit Ivory Lodge in Zimbambwe you will not regret it.

Bill & Craig Smithers United States of America 24 – 28 September 2008 I must say you have a very lovely and comfortable lodge. Cedric and Richard treated us very well. By the end of our stay I felt more like friends or family than mere guests. The guide , Dumi, was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. Sharon was also personable. I just wish she could have stayed longer. The were all very personal with us. I can’t think of anything else they could have done to make it better. maybe lions … we didn’t see but a couple. I would and will highly recommend your lodge to everyone. Can’t wait to return. If only you could move it closer to me.?? Thanks again!

The Primrose Family New Zealand 8th – 12th July 2008  What a wonderful africa experience the rooms overlooking the waterhole, the hide to relax in and watch the wildlife from, Fantastic food and service from all those involved just made us want to stay longer and hope to come back soon. All the best to the team. Ivory Lodge and Zimbabwe is a fantastic place to visit we felt so safe and where able to do everything we could want and more Thanks

Tim & Mandy Henshall United Kingdom August 2007 A fabulous lodge, alongside a fabulous park. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at Ivory Lodge, where the hospitality made us feel right at home. The staff deserve much praise, from “front of house” through to the kitchens. The hide, down by the waterhole is terrific. We’ll be recommending you to everyone we meet. We hope to be back soon.

Lawrence Strocher & Phillip Strocher April 2007 Canada A beautiful place, wonderful staff, a great guide and far more game than I suspected I would see. A once in a life time experience but I think I’ll be back again because my wife must see this. Thank you very much.

Bridget Randle Falcon College Very special place you have here! The personal touch is superb – even down to our personal room attention ( the pookie!). Continual game at the waterhole kept us well entertained and great game drives produced loads of eles and our own storm! Thanks to Kelly, Dumiisane and all the staff. Keep up the good work – we will be back with the rest of the family…

Neilsen Family Sweden Ivory equals paradise. What a fantastic spot in Africa. We really enjoyed staying here and have our minds filled with great experience and memories. This has been an adventure…. All the best for the future – both for the beautiful staff and amazing animals!

Sidar France This lodge is a real African Hospitality and warmth experience. The food was great and service was superb which makes the whole dining experience extraordinary. Our hostess was always smiling and very friendly. She had our tyre repaired! What more could you as for from your host? We will recommend to all the doctors around the world looking for a special and wonderful experience in the African bush with its warm and smiling people. Thank you.   Alice McIntosh  Taken me so long to write a review, but we had the best guides and we are very sorry for breaking down 2 cars.  Hope you remember us, but we did have the best time and so glad we came here!  The drives were amazing and were so lucky to see a Serval, that would have happened if we hadn’t of broken down.  Even though we had thunder storms every night, the food made up for it! Everyone was so smiley and I loved Hwange National Park and going on a night drive, then a morning drive 8 hours later. But really was amazing. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Siobhan Marren – Australia  I spent four months in Africa last year working in refugee camps as a teacher in Kenya, Sudan and Tunisia. Prior to the working part of the trip, I did a two week tour with Jenman (Blessed and Colin were our Jenman guides) and the highlight was – without a doubt – the three days we spent at Ivory lodge with dear Ceddy! I doubt he remembers me, but we sat up around the camp fire each night and he sang Aussie and Irish songs for us all (I was the only Australian on the tour, but no-one seemed to mind!). Being the same age as his daughters, he was so lovely to me – and we debated Zim politics for hours over a lot of beer!! He mentioned the trust that you had set up and spoke with such pride of the amazing work you were doing. I felt as if I had my own dad while I was staying there! I will be travelling to Zimbabwe again next year in June – this time taking my parents for their very first trip to Africa – and plan on visiting Ivory Lodge again for a few days with them. It would be amazing to be able to take them out to the program so that they could see for themselves the amazing work that people like you are doing in Zim as well. Exmouth Guests, from the United Kingdom:                                                                                                                                        What a fabulious welcome. I am a part-time wheelchair user and definitely limited on my feet but Belinda, Peter and the team could not do enough to help. Director Cedric is a star too! Contrary to one of the comments on tjis site, we did not feel threatened by wildlife and could not even tell you if the fence was switched on! And we were in a lodge which was only a copuple of feet off the ground. The morning chorus of ‘Cup of tea sir?’ just added to the charm. I did this as a bucket list holiday and it more than met everything I hoped for… Thanks guys.
